Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 運籌管理系碩士專班 === 105 === Firm strategic orientations (SO) may affect firm performance. Market orientation is one of most used SO in industry. Past studies reached different conclusions about the impacts of market orientation on firm performance. In the meantime, business competition basis has shifted from firms to supply chains in today’s business environment. Firms cannot compete with their rivals without supply chain partners. This means that firms have not only to focus their own strategies and operations, but also to pay efforts into supply chain integration and management. In the complicated process of supply chain integration, whether firm’s market orientation impacts its performance through implementing supply chain integration is an important issue that has not been investigated.
In this study, we take top one thousand manufacturers in Taiwan as sampling population and gather data by questionnaires. Regression analysis is used to test hypothesis derived. The results indicate that firm’s market orientation positively and significantly impacts not only its performance, but also its supply chain integration. Furthermore, supply chain integration has positive and significant impact on firm performance. In addition, the results show that supply chain integration is a mediator. Supply chain integration partially mediates the effect of market orientation on firm performance. In other words, market orientation not only affects firm performance directly, but indirectly impacts firm performance through implementation of supply chain integration.
