Summary: | 碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 化學工程與材料工程學系碩士班 === 105 === Wood chip hydrolysate (which was hydrolysis by dilute sulphuric acid) has been investigated as a promising feedstock for aceton-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation by Clostridium beijerinckii. There are two types of experiment in this study. One, the first experiment, was to evaluate the strain could survive in the wood chip hydrolysate and metabolize sugar to ABE products. Secondary, the batch fermentation with/without butanol recovery techniques (gas stripping), were evaluated for their effectiveness in relieving butanol inhibition on fermentation.
The results demonstrated that the strains was slightly inhibited by the inhibitors presented in the hydrolysate (sugar conversion 74.8 % and butanol yield 0.016 g/g), but it could still has capability for the butanol production. There were no effect in enhancing the butanol concentration and yield in situ gas stripping process for fermentation. Therefore, the highest yield of butanol and ABE was 0.34 g/g (3.01 g/L of butanol) and 0.56 g/g (5.21 g/L of ABE), respectively, under the batch stirring fermentation.
