Summary: | 碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 教育心理與諮商學系碩士班 === 105 === The purpose of this study was to develop the Relational Maintenance Behaviors Scale (RMBS) for university students. The subjects were 517 university students who were in a romantic relationship. The final version of the RMBS consists of 52 items, divided into two aspects (positive and negative relational maintenance behaviors) and fourteen subscales by item analysis and factor analysis. The results were as follows:
1.The internal reliability of the scale, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, was .889. The coefficients of positive and negative relational maintenance behaviors two aspects were .922 and .820. The internal reliability and stability of RMBS were very good.
2.Construct validity and criterion-related validity had been found satisfied. An obvious relationship exists between RMBS and Codependency Scale, and between RMBS and Love Relationship Rating Form.
3.University students tend to use positive relational maintenance behaviors more than negative relational maintenance behaviors in a romantic relationship.
4.University students of two different backgrounds (gender and relationship duration) showed significant differences in positive and negative relational maintenance behaviors.
According to the results, suggestions were offered to practitioners of education and counseling and future studies.
