Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 藝術創意產業學系 === 105 === “The motion of silence”, using clay as the medium, creates a visually dynamic process where objects seem to move with its smooth curves and organic patterns. Bearing all sorts of social expectations, the author should have proceeded actively and in certain directions. However, such condition is contradictory to the author’s slow pace of dealing with things and laziness. With such an experience transformed into ideas of creation, seemingly static clay installation works sometimes are in a weak yet wonderful state, while other times seem to move slowly, quietly, and silently, moving with their own pace via unique ways.
The current study was based on the author’s personal creation pattern and alteration of mental condition after 2013. With art as a way of self-exploration, the author, through recording personal receptions about memory and live experiences as well as creation process and produced works, reexamined and analyzed personal mindset. The author further explored turns and alteration of mental condition during the creation process, and attempted to clarify the transition of such changes, rethinking the relationship between the self and art creation. Literature review covered the development of ceramic sculpture and soft sculpture as well as relevant effects on modern ceramic art, thus enabling the author to further ponder upon current position in modern ceramic art. Meanwhile, the current study also provided examples of how organic shape was displayed in artistic works, addressing its implication and feeling in creators’ works. Finally, meaningful showcase was used to express the author’s belief, with works adopted to re-organize and state personal thoughts.
