For the official counseling teachers, the main work and task are to implement the counseling work at schools. This study is to explore the impact of the school organization and system on the work of junior high school counselors. The purpose is to understand the problems and the way of the work of junior high school counselors, and the analysis of the influence of the school organization and system on the work of junior high school counselors. The qualitative research method was adopted in this study, conducting a semi-structured interview. There are six full-time public junior high school counselors from Hualien Country and New Taipei City taking part in the interview, and the interview transcripts will be analyzed by content analysis method.
The results are as follows: The content of junior high school counselors’ work is divided into central legislation, local system and school size three levels in our country. The problems of junior high school counselors’ work can be divided into general and special ones. The mode of adaptation is to adapt, to avoid, to change and to enrich the model. The content of junior high school counselors in different school types varies, the work of the problems and the way of dealing with the problems by local system, school size, organizational climate and practice and an influence factor of personal counselors. The impacts of school organization and system for the work of junior high school counselors is divided into education legislation, organizational culture and the personal level of an actor.Finally, based on the above results, this study put forward practical suggestions on the work of junior high school counseling.
