The method used in this study is questionnaire survey: taking current directors of general affairs in both senior high and vocational high schools as the research object. A total of 531 questionnaires were issued, but since 9 schools do not have the position of director of general affairs, they are not included in the study. Also, 5 directors refused to fill out the questionnaire. Therefore, a total of 455 are valid questionnaires. The data are analyzed by SPSS 17 for Windows. The methods used include descriptive statistics, independent-sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple regressions. The main findings were as follows: First, the job stress that the directors suffer in both the senior high and the vocational high schools falls to the upper level category. The work involved the "funding and business implementation" brings the highest stress, while "school support", the lowest, which most directors strongly agree. Second, the job satisfaction that the directors of general affairs feel in both senior high and vocational high schools is moderate. The highest level of "satisfaction" comes from "interpersonal relationship". Third, significant differences in work pressure exist in different years of work experience: the directors with 3-year(or under), 4-year or 5-year working experience feel higher pressure than those with 10-year working experience. Fourth, there are significant differences of job satisfaction for directors of different ages and of different concurrently administrative experiences in general affairs. Those who are older and with longer administrative experiences have higher job satisfaction. Fifth, "the job stress vs. the job satisfaction" has a significant negative correlation. Sixth, the degree of the job satisfaction is predictable according to the job stress level, especially with the two indications: "school support" and "time management".
