Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 歷史學系 === 105 === During the Latest Empire through the Republic China, there was “The Golden Era” when Chinese have had her first coincidentally meet at Western political orders. What we so-called “New Age” of modern China creatively totally changed the traditional role though western knowledge and broke up the Confucianism. The spread of Western influences not only changed moderns’ thought but also formed some new Restaurant etiquette which basic on the Chinese manner. When the West encounter to the Chinese Banquest, “How to treat it” was also refer to “How to be treated as the citizen/ civilized man.” The chasing of essentially a civilization-state was a hard trail for the conventional society. Meanwhile, some new Chinese Intellectuals who were well-educated and friendly to the west trying their best to moderate two reverse manner. I prefer to treat the cultural changes as an attitude that Chinese Intellectuals, such as Hu, Binxia(胡彬夏, 1888-1931), Xu, Ke (徐珂, 1869-1928), Miu, Cheng Shuyi (繆程淑儀, ?-?) supported to reform the nation. Due to the strong intention of becoming a “Civilized state,” women also involed in the forming activities. The mind of the intellectuals perfomed their intention in serveral media, such as Funü zazhi/ Ladies' Journal (《婦女雜誌》, 1915-1919) and other magzines or journals. Therefore, in this Master’s thesis I have try my best to collected all the information of the reformed Chinese Banquest for understand how the traditional manner showed its way to conquest the challenged from the Western influence.
