Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 諮商與臨床心理學系 === 105 === The purpose of this study is to explore the essence of parents’ life experiences, from closeting to accepting their homosexual child. This study used the phenomenological orientation to as data collection and data analysis. The researcher interviewed a pair of gay’s parents and a pair of lesbian’s parents, from southern Taiwan, and their children have been came out more than a year. The findings show that parents are starting from “love”, in the traditional culture and social policy, they experienced emotional shock, life difficulties, but also get strength, learning and growth. The role’s multiple and difficult, that parents fall into a “dilemma”, but also let parents gradually out of the closet experience, and start to find meaning, and ultimately return to life. However, even parents have accepted their children, and came out of the closet, but still see them wandering in the closet. Maybe they are not reject children, but too worry about them. So, parents will go back and forth in the process, ultimately, they left are deeply worried about the children. Finally, the researcher discusses the results of the study and proposes study limitations and recommendations, as well as the researcher's thinking.
