The author attempted to make out the process, management, and execution of their efforts in reading activities for children by organizing and analyzing the interviewing, on-site observations, notes of heart-searching, and related research and case studies. The difficulties and the recommendations in promoting reading were also investigated on co-workers and participants simultaneously. SSICA merged the dialogue between authors and their books into reading activities. They not only provided the children reading service in Hualien, but also played a leading role in promotion. The advantage and the disadvantage of SSICA in giving impetus to reading activities for children can be grouped into human resource, funds, software/hardware, and management, four major parts. The former included the human-based management, the local ingenious and value-added reading activities, and the fine partnership between families, schools and society. The later included lack of professional partners in promoting children reading, excessive dependence on grants, lack of sufficient maintenance and upgrade of equipment and books, lack of professional marketing, unpleasant cooperation of some schools and how to grow the membership. On the other hand, a series of recommendations for reading promoting from participants and school teachers could be divided into several phases: some good and lasting reading policies, integrating resources and funding, effective management to the BookCrossing sites, attaching weight to “open books to read” but not “how many activities to hold”, revising the Bookstart programme, designing a good local program “10 minutes reading time in the morning”, legalization of employing the reading teachers in school, etc. Hurng-Jyuhn Wang 王鴻濬 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 142 |
