| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 中國文學系研究所 === 105 === This thesis is based on Wang, Ren-Yu's "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" and Pu, Xiang-Ming's " The Pursuit of Poetic Snubs-- the Research on Wang, Ren-Yu's Writings. Because of the misrepresentations of historical facts, this book was regarded as a pseudograph or not a writing of Wang, Ren-Yu. Recently, as the historical accounts of the events in Five Dynasties get more attention, the debate on the authenticity of the events in "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" is going on again.
After I studied the definitions of "pseudograph" by scholars from different generations, I think "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" is not a pseudograph. It actually provides a lot of precious facts, including characters, rare stuff, anecdotes, and customs from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns, and so on. These materials which offer reference value to the literature and historical researches of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties shouldn't be ignored.
There are two points of this thesis. One is to gather up the threads of the debate on the authenticity of the events in "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" to redefine the its value to the literature. The other is to investigate the purport of "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" in literature, customs, and history.
In conclusion, I hope the scholars can make more objective and careful comments on "Unaccounted Events from the Kaiyuan-¬ Tianbao Reigns" after reading this thesis and the book can be treasured.
