The participants included 661 junior high school students coming from Miaoli County, Taichung city, Changhua County, and Nantou County. The researcher employed the method of the questionnaire survey to understand junior high school students’ self -concept, emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationship. The researcher retrieves the data and afterwards conducts data analysis with such methods as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, simple and multiple regression analysis. Major findings derived from this study are listed as follows: 1. There is no significant difference between junior high school students of different genders on self-concept. 2. There is a significant difference between junior high school students of different genders on emotional intelligence, the females perform better than the males. 3. There is a significant difference between junior high school students of different genders on interpersonal relationship, the females perform better than the males. 4. There are significant differences among junior high school students of different grades on self-concept, the first and second grader perform better than the third grader. 5. There are significant differences among junior high school students of different grades on emotional intelligence, the second grader perform better than the first and third grader. 6. There are significant differences among junior high school students of different grades on interpersonal relationship, the first and second grader perform better than the third grader. 7. The self-concept can be the forecast on emotional intelligence. 8. The self-concept can be the forecast on interpersonal relationship. 9. The emotional intelligence plays a partly mediating role among self-concept and interpersonal relationship. According to the results above, a variety of suggestions were proposed for reference of educational organizations, teachers, counselors and follow-up study.
