Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電信工程學研究所 === 105 === The white space spectrum in the TV ultra high frequency (UHF) bands and the TV very high frequency (VHF) bands has been identified as an important radio resource with excellent transmission characteristics. These idle frequency bands are often called TV white space (TVWS). Free use of TVWS had been permitted by many telecommunication authorities all over the world in the recent few years. Cognitive radio (CR) users are the main population to use TVWS. In this paper, we investigate a new mechanism for the CR users to share benefit with the incumbent TV users. We call this new mechanism as cognitive mutualism(CM). The CR users relay TV signals as the feedback for free use of TVWS. The coverage of TV signals is thus expanded. We study the probability to perform a successful CM and the ratio of TV coverage expansion through CM.
