But, it is a difficult to users whom have not disciplines of software engineering. In order to reduce the barriers and simplify the complexity of UML usage in CIMT phase, a set of customized icons have been developed for non-software engineering users to describe the system model for design input based on the system specification. Three customized icons have been developed on CIMT phase using the WPF container of Microsoft Visual Studio. They are the construction of functional blocks, ports, and connections with colored features to cover the description and modeling capabilities of UML. In addition, augmented attribute semantics of editing fields, been aware attribute setting conflicts, simplified the icon of the connection between the ports with bi-directional ability, and enhanced the capabilities of hierarchical function layer editing. Finally produced XPD files can be seamlessly connected to the developed PIMT and PSMT operational phases for autonomously completing the transformation of embedded application system from conceptual model to software programs and hardware circuits of physical system.
