Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 運動健康研究所 === 105 === The purpose of this study was to test the effects of self-talk program on performance and state anxiety among elementary school track and field student-athletes. Twenty-five athletes (12 males and 13females; Mage=11.6±.5) who taking part Changhua track and field competition were divided into eleven in intervention group and fourteen in control group. All participants continue their routine training after first competition, and the intervention group attend self-talk program for 5 weeks, 2 times each week during two competitions. The one-way ANCOVA used to compare the sport performance and state anxiety before and after intervention of two groups. Result shows that there was significant difference on sport performance of male track athletes after controlling the training hours per week and on somatic anxiety among elementary school track and field student-athletes after controlling the training hour per week, gender and pre-test score. This study concluded that a 5-week self-talk program improved the sport performance of male track athletes and reduced somatic anxiety among elementary school track and field student-athletes.
