Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 科技管理研究所 === 105 === This research use decision tree method as a tool to identify the factors that cause winning and losing. The experiment will be considering the NBA data for the past ten years to explore the criteria why those competitive teams could win more than 50 games in a season. The results showed that FG and DRB influences a team whether getting 50 wins in a season. Also, the combination on Pace and DRB has an impact on winning percentage. Meaning that coaches and trainers should be focusing on how to score easy points and grab rebounds as many as they could, rather than passing excessively and cause unnecessary turnovers. Another way of winning is to form Big 3s. Big 3s often include a guard who focuses on controlling the pace, and a forward who focuses on scoring, and a center who can manage to secure rebounds. It fully covers the main reasons that wins a game and the average age of the Big 3 players are often around thirty and are experienced. Overall, these results may benefit sports clubs to reform their team structure and readjust strategies.
