Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 管理學院科技管理學程 === 105 === This research will show the company managers and policymakers of flash memory storage industry how the products work and marketing composition and business model analyses to the manufacturers as the method and reference to consider. It will also show the industrial standardization and future solutions how to improve the production techniques and enhance the advantage and avoid the disadvantage with marketing analyses. Company managers and policymakers are facing the enormous production and future technical improvement of NAND flash memory storage system- due to the tremendous market demand and significantly increasing numbers of applications. Thus, 3D NAND flash technology will be referred in the following chapter. The NAND flash memory application is very common in human life currently; the future suggestion will be given in the last chapter.
Flash memory is electronic computer data storage that data or information can be electrically stored, read, reprogrammed and erased which we called Read and Write usage. Toshiba is the inventor who developed flash memory in the early 1980s and introduced it to the market in 1984.
The NAND flash memory storage system can be operated and applied in many types of products, for instance, memory cards, USB flash drives, SSD (solid-state drives) etc.. NAND flash memory storage is often used to store countless and abundant data in numerous and various digital products, which also includes the personal computers, laptops, PDAs, digital audio players/online music players, digital cameras, mobile phones, smart phones, tablets, synthesizers, gaming-VR/AR, scientific instrumentation, industrial robots, medical electronics and all the consuming electronics. Plus, as being non-volatile, flash memory provides fast read access times. Its mechanical shock resistance increases its popularity over hard disks in portable devices, and this new device we called Solid-state Storage Drive (SSD). Solid-state Storage Device has high durability, ability to withstand high pressure, temperature and offers bigger storage space with better and higher performance. In the meantime, leading companies have provided new innovative technology- 3D NAND flash memory technology to reach better speed and performance.
Nowadays, the NAND flash memory storage has been the market place with the advanced technology. The upcoming trend for the internet of things (IoT) will be next prosperity for the human world. IoT is the network of physical devices, vehicles, buildings and other items, which linked and embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data and information. The growing requirement of IoT also brings the opportunity of enormous memory storage and faster speed of data collecting. The NAND flash storage can be applied on existing network infrastructure, provides more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems and resulting in efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit, making human’s life remotely and conveniently.
In this research, we will discuss the applications of NAND flash memory, the technical condition to the future integration and how the marketing strategy and analyses applies to the real world cases. The Marketing Mix 4Ps, SWOT analysis, Porter’s Five Forces and Business Model Canvas will be used to analyze the case studies. We will discuss the international companies in different countries about their cooperation management and strategy. We will also analyze the economic trades and patterns, in order to learn the advantages and disadvantages with marketing analysis and business models. Also to the managers and policymakers, how the regulations and market attributes affect the management.
Three methodologies will be used in the essay, including case study, in-depth interview, and secondary date analysis. Case study is used to learn more about the international company comparison. There will be some management employees and engineers interviewed to gain deeper and practical knowledge in the industry, and secondary data analysis will be used to compare the merits and option which NAND flash memory manufacturers have.
