The demanding of communication is growing, but the available bandwidth is already very crowded. Visible light communication (VLC) is expected to ease the increasingly crowded frequency band, and the promoter of 5G and IOT. With the LED process is matured and the price gradually decreased, lighting lamp is gradually replaced by LED. With its wide bandwidth, LEDs can be applied in wireless communications. Integration of VLC and LED illumination device can provide fast, secure and convenient network environment. This thesis explores the communication quality of VLC and its application with different receivers, Solar panel and CMOS sensor. Solar panels can receive light voltage and store energy simultaneously. These characteristics can make it be passive receivers and be integrated with the application of IoT. The using of CMOS camera and the image processing can built an image based VLC.
