The effect of whole body vibration training on the physical performance and quality of life in patients with chronic lung diseases can be used as a rehabilitation plan for patients with chronic lung disease who are not involved in traditional exercise training. Methods:six patients were included in our study who comes from the Chest OPD. The WBV training is designed to use a whole body vibration , each series consists of 60-second repetitions with a frequency of 20-35Hz and 2 mm of amplitude, with 60-second of rest between each series twice a week. The study is designed to evaluate the effect of pre-/post-intervention with WBV via measuring following outcomes : pulmonary function test, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, maximal inspiratory /expiratory force, 30-second- sit-to-stand test and St. George`s Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) .The descriptive statistics and nonparametric wilcoxon test were used to estimate the statistical significance of the differences in pulmonary tests and the physiological parameters. Result:WBV training improved the lower limb muscle power and cardio-respiratory capacity. There was the increased tendency but no statistically significant difference in HRQL before and after exercise. Conclusion:The WBV training improved their lower limb muscle power and the quality of life. We suggested the WBV training is a safe and convenient intervention to chronic lung disease patients.
