Although the three of them had disparate literary achievements and different appraises in the history of literature, they still shared similar literary development at the early stages. This study has re-examined their creative trajectories, outlining the process of evolving into “writers”. This study believes that in order to restore the literary authenticity, both the changes in the literary creations and the literary activities in which the writers were involved should be seen together and discussed side by side, which is also the necessary approach to evaluate the writers’ works objectively. This study is based on transcendental propositions: what kind of works did they continue writing after becoming writers? What were the themes? What kinds of artistic skills? What was ignored during this transition of becoming writers? What was the link between the literary productions and the social context and the times? Therefore, this paper reviewed their literary creation and literary practice by placing them in a larger social and historical context and discussed the close connection between the development of Taiwanese literature with the literary and artistic institution of Kuomintang and the U.S. aid literary institution”.
