The steel cable method of resistance test was established by Chen (2014) and was improved for the reliability and repeatability by Wu (2015) After having the high repeatability resistance test data, we can consider the wall effects. This thesis followed the ITTC recommendation to do the correction of blockage effect and find out the most suitable blockage correction for NCKU towing tank. The further research on modifying blockage correction for NCKU towing tank is needed. In three different kinds of blockage correctors from ITTC (2011), Schuster’s method is more suitable for NCKU towing tank. Because Schuster’s method is based on mean flow theory, which considered free-surface effect. We also make progress on Schuster’s method and include shallow water effect to make new blockage corrector which comments both velocity and resistance.
