Further more, it also compared the differences between the stress of surplus and their coping strategies over personal and environmental viriables. Then ,the research analyzed the relationship between the stress of surplus and their coping strategies. The study adopted questionnaire to survey the the study goal.“The Questionnaire for the Junior High School Teachers under the Stress of Surplus Teachers and Their Coping Strategies in Kaohsiung City” has been made as the tool for investigation.The study adopted stratified random sampling to decide the study samples. There are 501 out of a total of 515 valid samples provided for research. All the collected data and the results were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation. After analyzing all data,the conclusions were obtained as followings: 1.The current situation on the stress of surplus teachers in Kaohsiung City was in middle-high level. Among the stress of surplus situation, work uncertainty is the highest and the regulatios of surplus teahers is the lowest. 2.The frequency in the stress of of surplus teachers and their coping strategies in Kaohsiung City was in the middle level. Among the situation of coping strategies, rational thinking is the most to be used and the action of asking support is in low frequency. 3.The years of teaching、size of the school、the surpus problem in the past three years, and the surplus in the future three years all had significant diffirences on the stress of surplus teachers. 4.The years of teaching had significant difference on the surplus teachers coping strategies. 5.There was a positive correlation between the stress of surplus teachers and their coping strategies in Kaohsiung City.
