Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 財務金融研究所 === 105 === This paper provides empirical evidence for the effect of corporate social responsibility on corporate innovation in the Taiwan market. Compared to prior studies, we use a unique data set of patent data in Taiwan Patent Search System which provide firms’ patent records with domestic published applications. Furthermore, we combine the corporate social responsibility rank in CommonWealth's Top 100 Corporate Citizens with Global Views Corporate Social Responsibility Awards. Their CSR score is constructed on the four dimensions: corporate governance, economic, social and environmental. Our study finds that firms’ CSR performance is positively significant associated with corporate innovation during our sample period. For this result, we conclude that firms with better CSR performance will raise the successful patent applications filed by the firm and also the citations received by all successful patent applications. This paper verify the effect of CSR performance on firms’ innovation.
