Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 公共衛生研究所 === 105 === This study aimed to compare the variation of long-term care (LTC) recipients’ functional indicators that are Activities of Daily Living scale (ADLs), the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living scale (IADLs), emotion, cognition. Two types of services are home- and community-based and were utilized mostly. The data source for this study came from the LTC dataset from 2011 to April in 2016. There were 5817 care recipients of home service (HS) and 326 care recipients of adult day services (ADS) with available initial need assessment records in the dataset with two years. The outcomes of this study were evaluated semi-annually approximately and analyzed with linear mixed models of repeated measures. ADS had a positive effect on ADLs and emotion, but ADS was downtrend of IADLs and defective cognition more than HS. The results of this study showed community-based services should maintain cognitive abilities for older adults intensively. Cognitive and physical activities, social engagement, and nutrition to support successful cognitive aging must become integral to elder care.
