Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 土木工程學系 === 105 === By using the finite element software ANSYS, together with the ICEM CFD mesh and FLUENT, the percolation of solidified railway ballast is studied numerically. Two fold ballasts are generated : a uniformly distributed ballast and a gravel induced ballast, resulted from the dynamic external vibration. The ballast used in simulation are identical with the real ballast stones.Three mesh configurations of gluing solution as 3x3、5x5、7x7 network arrangements are included and the amount of water is fixed. Results show that 3x3 case has better performance in permeability than the others. In the same configuration, the uniformly distributed ballast has better permeability than gravel induced ballast. Moreover, halving the amount of gluing solution does not improve the permeability.Only the permeability of 3x3 case increases obviously and others remain the same. The percolation of solidified railway ballast is based on site study, and a priori numerical study provides a preliminary solution. The present study elaborates different factors that could influence the permeability of solidified railway ballast.
