Past studies indicate that herbs have stress-relieveing, relax, calm and refreshing effects. Until now, most of studies are talk about the good of plant via visual or smell sense, less talk about the sense of touch. The aims of this study are to find out the emotional relevance between the textures of Herb leaf and perceptions of vision and touch. Three types of plant leaf texture are used in the experiment: smooth, rough and have felted The PAD emotional scale, sate-trait anxiety inventory, physiological instruments and interview are used for collecting data from subjects. The results find that there are positive influences on pleasure-evoking and anxiety-reducing through observed or touch plant leaf. Seeing and touching leaf surface textures will make subjects feel relax, calm, independent and willing to close to the leaves. Textures of leaves are attractive to human, and can bring them positive effects. These findings can develop the guidelines and principles of healing garden design for landscape designers.
