| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 園藝學系所 === 105 === In recent years, although aesthetics construction of rural communities was built up with good intentions in Taiwan, however when observing the phenomenon of rural construction, we need to ask ourselves that is it really what residents need. From the viewpoint of the aesthetics meaning of rural communities, this study tried to explore and understand residents’ opinion of rural communities and how to operate rural aesthetics. Geographical environment and industry of rural communities are diverse in Taiwan, therefore, this study selected different types of rural communities from ten classic rural communities that were ranked as top ten rural communities through the competition in 2007. The study used the qualitative method to collect and analyze data focused on the exploration of the aesthetics of rural communities and how to operate it. The main research results were indicated as followings:
1. Respondents thought that the aesthetics of rural communities derived from the sensuous and spiritual satisfaction from nature environment, the relationships between people, environment, culture, the connection of local industry and local memory, and the naturalness, humanization, and specialty of rural space.
2. Respondents thought that the aesthetics of rural communities should emphasize on the comprehensive sensory feelings, participation, and practicality.
3. Respondents thought that the operation of the aesthetics of rural communities could start from participating in community affairs, increasing aesthetic accomplishment, paying attention to local culture, having a long-term planning, attracting young people back to rural communities, thinking the appearance of sightseeing space, space’s users and positioning.
4. The differences between the operations of general aesthetics and the operations of rural community aesthetics were that the characteristics of utilitarian and practicality should be emphasized more when operating rural community aesthetics. Also, the humanities and spatial details from thoughts of tourists and residents should be mentioned more instead of visual aesthetics.
Based upon the study results, the study suggested that people need to consider local feature, encourage resident and young people participating in community affairs, offer the aesthetics training, and create a living environment for people when constructing rural aesthetics. The study also suggested that the future researches may expand the study samples, understand the influences of other personal factors on the aesthetics of rural communities, and use different qualitative methods to do research in order to present more abundant and complex contents in further researches.
