From 2013 to 2015, there were many stores exiting china’s market. This research chose Wal-Mart’s and Carrefour’s exiting shop as the research sample. In order to find the reason why firms exiting, this research were based on the dynamic capability to build what capabilities the firms need and add local relationship network Intensity as moderating factor. Furthermore, this research adopts the perspective of Wal-Mart’s and Carrefour’s competitor to overcome data collection difficultly. Adopting RT-Mart perspective evaluated Wal-Mart and Carrefour capabilities. This research gather 28 exit market Wal-Mart stores’ data and 24 exit market Carrefour stores’ data as treatment group, and gather 52 continuing operating RT-Mart stores’ data, 24 continuing operating Carrefour stores’ data, and 28 continuing operating Wal-Mart stores’ data as control group. Using logistic regression analyzed and compared of the difference between the treatment group and the control group. The results show that firms’ capabilities and exit market are significantly negative relationship. Firms must have the necessary capabilities to survive in the china’s market. In addition, moderating effect shows the higher strength of the local relationship network, even if the capabilities of firms were weak, the possibility of exiting from the local market will be reduced. “Guanxi” is importance to international retailers. If firms build a good relationship with local stakeholders, they could help weaken firms continue to operate in the china’ market. Finally, this research’s model has its excellent suitability in predicting the rate of the firm''s exit. The results can provide a follow-up to adopt firm capability’s view to evaluate firms’ operation stability. Yu-Ching Chiao Tzy-Wen Tang 喬友慶 唐資文 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 57 zh-TW
