The concept of waste treatment policies means to reduce waste of resources from the industrial recycling and to re-use the recycling of resources, namely the concept of "cradle to cradle".In that concept, we treat a waste as a resource and make it play its role in the environment with no harm during circulation. Iron-based waste is common in environments. For example, the production processes of forging industry often produce large amounts of iron carbide. Similarly, the remaining of Iron-based furnace waste (IFW) and Hand-warmer waste (HWW) consists mainly with iron-based waste. In past literature, the use of iron oxide as adsorbent and catalyst often drew lots of attentions. The mechanism of the catalytic oxidation of hydrogen peroxide include the production of hydroxyl radicals and the use of strong oxidizing power of hydroxyl radicals in degrading organic pollutants. Under the condition of heterogeneous reaction mechanism, the pollutants could be absorbed on the surface and then break down. Although, the literature activated carbon coated iron oxide as an adsorbent material and explore recycling, but did not explore the use of waste recycling of resources. The main spindle of this study is to apply the concept of resource recycling in iron-based waste to explore the physical characteristics and modified dye wastewater after treatment for the degradation of the results. This research project is to investigate the reusability of Iron-based furnace waste (IFW) and Hand-warmer waste (HWW). By looking into the characteristics of the recovered material, the ability of absorbing material, the catalyst as the redox capacity after the modification, the effect of degradation of dye wastewater and the ability of using continuously, the optimal operating parameters in reusing these resources could be determined. The results showed that HWW had good efficiency at optimal pH condition for treated dyes wastewater. Although the adsorption ability of IFW was much lower than HWW, when modified by Fenton reaction system, both IFW and HWW had good removed efficient for dyes wastewater. The studies demonstrated that recovery iron-based wastes might be an economy and feasible way to removed pollutants for dyes wastewater. Further researches might try to reduce waste capacity and remove other pollutants. 謝永旭 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 138 zh-TW
