Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 化學系所 === 105 === In this study, we use silver nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes composites(Ag/CNT) which made by a simple and rapid sonication process to study its release capability of silver ions in human skin simulated collagen solution. The silver nanoparticles with average size of 70 nm are homogeneous deposited onto the surface of the CNTs. The Ag ion release capability of the prepared Ag/CNT composites is compatible with that of commercial ConvaTec silver antibacterial wound dressing (denoted as ConvaTec). The released Ag+ ion concentrations for Ag/CNT composites is in the rage of 0.02ppm to 0.123ppm, and the ConvaTec is in the range of 0.002ppm to 0.007ppm, respectively, which are included in the range between 0.1ppb and 10ppm which is effective antibacterial features. Notably, the released Ag+ ion concentrations and release rate for Ag/CNT composites is higher than the ConvaTec one, which could be ascribed to the difference silver ion release mechanism. With better Ag+ ion release concentration and release rate, the Ag/CNT composites possessed better antibacterial ability as compared to the commercial ConvaTec antibacterial wound dressing. Importantly, the Ag/CNT composites have long-term antibacterial ability for at least 50 days. These above results indicated that the Ag/CNT composites displayed great potential as a promising long-term bactericide for bio-medical applications. But we should notice that the released concentration of silver ion of the prepared Ag/CNT composites is above WHO drinking water standard, of 0.1ppm, and close to FDA drinking water standard, of 0.15ppm, which could be a risk to human body.
