Summary: | 碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 新聞學系 === 105 === The social problems of street cats in Taipei is just a small part of the issue of wild animals of urban city. The way of habitation of street cats in Taipei may provide an insight of how to get along with these incontrollable “others” living around our communities. This work of photography tells about the corners that often ignored by people are paradoxical and complicated living spaces for street cats, and human equals to power which existing everywhere and restricting their freedom. Furthermore, this study aims to criticize the spreading images of “cute” cats, which are lack of political insights and tend to cover up the diversity of cats. Besides photos, this study scans through the current policies on street cats of Taipei and induces the deficiencies of the policies. The theories of Michel Foucault, Emmanuel Lévinas, Gilles Deleuze are applied.
