The application of robot is quite diverse, which can even provide the results that human cannot achieve. When the robot combines with different devices, the results can show the value and possibility of intelligent automation, which creates a lot of opportunities for the future development. Considering the importance of intelligent robot, this research makes efforts in two case studies to investigate the application and future prospects with industrial robot. The first case is the intelligent robot labeling. Its purpose is to replace human labor and to be suitable for different kinds of products. This case uses an industrial robot combined with machine vision to detect object's type, angle and location. The robot is able to track and make different attachment for different products. The dynamic accuracy is less than 1 mm. The second case is the water hardware grinding. The purpose is to build an automatic grinding system. This system provides offline programming software to calculate the product model in advance, then automatically plan the grinding path and build the robot language, which reduces the required time for adjusting the production line. Limited by not enough of time and equipment, this research has to make grinding system and vision system separately. The research result shows that vision system can recognize water hardware’s surface feature, and is able to reduce manual detection, and increase efficiency of the production.
