Aging often causes individuals being self-care ability deficiency and needing help from others. Not all families are able to provide necessary care at home due to the family size decreasing. Trained care attendants become important care providers for disabled elders. However, after receiving the care attendant training program, the rates of employment in care service fild tend to be low, and cause serious shortage of care manpower. The purpose of this study was to explore the employment status after receiving care attendant training program and job satisfaction in Pingtung. During September to October, 2016, a questionnaire was sent out to 979 participants who had received care trained program during 2014 to 2015, 791 responsed and 765 were adequate for data analysis at the final. Five hundred and fifteen (67.3%) were employed and 250 (32.7%) were unemployed. The unemployed participants were likely to to be male and younger ones. The first three reasons for unemployment were “the working time is too long,” “having insufficient care abilities,” “fearing care job.” For employed participants, the score of job satisfaction was not high. Age was a significant factor for job satisfaction. The older the participants were the high score the satisfaction was. According the findins in this study, three suggestions were made: building a comprehensive tutoring mechanism, build an apprenticeship system for the new care attendants during the first three months, and the care attendant supervisors should provide more critical assistant for the new care attendants and hold a case study periodically.
