This reasearch used “Taichung City of 9th graders in junior high school Financial Literacy and Consumption Behavior Questionnaire”. The questionnaire was composed according to both domestic and foreign theory on financial education indicators and consumption behavior. With stratified cluster sampling method, 506 9th graders in junior high school students who live in Taichung City coastal areas were chosen to fill out the questionnaire.The empirical results were follow: 1) In the financial literacy, junior high school students performed well in “income and investing”. 2) The consumption behavior of junior high school students was mainly based on rational type. 3) In the financial literacy, the differences of personal background among junior high school students showed partial significant difference on dimensions of "gender", "savings habits", "working experience".However, no significant difference in the " birth sequence ", " amount of pocket money ". 4) In terms of consumer behavior, the differences of personal background among junior high school students showed partial significant difference on dimensions of "gender", " amount of pocket money ", "savings habits", but there is not significant difference in the "birth sequence", "working experience" 5)The better the student’ financial literacy was, the better the student’ consumption behavior was. Finally, the researcher makes recommendations based on the results of the study to be provided to educational-related units, families and future researcher.
