Summary: | 碩士 === 明道大學 === 國學研究所 === 105 === The calligraphic tradition has been so thriving in Lukang for long that it is not ignorable in Taiwan calligraphy history. Ouyang Jin Hua is a key person in Lukang calligraphic culture and its development. Besides, Ma Shou Hua and the Japanese Hirotatsu Fujiwara both considered Ouyang as the first rate Taiwanese calligrapher at the time. It needs our discussion on the reasons. Therefore, this study is through the calligraphy art of Ouyang Jin Hua(1924-2012) to explore the thriving calligraphy in Lukang. With versatile calligraphic styles and features, plus rich traditional Chinese study knowledge and effort-taking spirit to devote to calligraphy art, this study is going to unveil the importance of Ouyang on Taiwan calligraphy art and people’s high praise of him as a first rate calligrapher.
This paper includes 6 chapters. Chapter 1 will explicate the research motivation, purpose, methodology; besides, it will review on what has been discussed and on this paper’s limitation and difficulties. Chapter 2 will discuss about the historical angle of Ou Yang Jin Hua, mainly the time era and space of his living at his lifetime, to know his daily life and his social life situations. Chapter 3 will analyze from his studies of ancient Chinese classics and his calligraphy learning to realize his inherited Chinese Classics background and his inherited teaching methodology. This is going to see through his talent and efforts that enrich his poetry and his own style of calligraphic creation spirit. Chapter 4 is the analysis of Ou Yang Jin Hwa’s calligraphy style; from his calligraphy works of different Scripts, this chapter will demonstrate his calligraphy technique features and personal unique calligraphy style through discussions and analyses. Chapter 5 will talk about Ou Yang Jin Hua’s achievement, his contribution to Taiwan Calligraphy history and the contemporary evaluations on his calligraphy art. Chapter 6 is a conclusion. With the discussion above, Ou Yang Jin Hua was absorbed in
Calligraphy for his whole life. He encouraged to pursue calligraphy and cultivated post calligraphers. What he has done was great accomplishment and revival to calligraphyworld; he shall deserve an important position in Taiwan calligraphy history.
