| Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用中國文學系碩士在職專班 === 105 === Liu Ming-Chuan was the first governor in Taiwan, where he cultivated the land of Taiwan for seven years. Having numerous constructions, Liu laid the solid foundation for the development of Taiwan. In view of its related researches, he put more emphasis on politics as well as martial arts; that is to say, he rarely took literature as research subjects. Therefore, this paper aims at using the TaQianShan Potry Selections to explore Liu Ming-chuan's literary achievements and reproduce his military style. In view of his personal background, ambitious wishes, writing characteristics, time and space, this paper further explores the content of Liu Ming-chuan's TaQianShan Poetry Selections with reference to the participated activates and fellowship in an attempt to present the literary style in terms of the subject matter and expressive technique of poems.
As far as the subject content is concerned, TaQianShan Poetry Selections are mainly divided into "Military Career", "Spirit of Saving the World", "Homesickness and Friendship", "Homecoming", etc., Liu had tremendous ambition that he organized the community in military training. Then he destroyed the Taiping army and terminated bandits. The poem has given vivid descriptions about military lives. In face of the deterioration of government power and influence, Liu Ming-Chuan embraced the idea of saving the world, developing the broad and selfish mind of his loving people. He fought a long-term war that put him in separation with his family and friends. His emotions and desired heart for family members become stronger and stronger, wishing for going back to his hometown.
In addition, at the aspect of expressive technique, in this paper, Liu Ming-chuan's TaQianShan Potry Selections has combined Liu Ming-chuan's personal experience and sentiment in application of the main theme in terms of "Art Style" and "Rhetorical Skills". Through rhetorical techniques, poetic writing characteristics have been added.
TaQianShan Poetry Selections have recorded Liu Ming-chuan's significant life-long information, contributing to restoring the author's life journey for the admiration and praise of generations handing down in a glorified image of a literary warrior.
