碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 國際企業學系碩士班 === 105 === The fruit Pitahaya has a different kind of uses and benefits nevertheless it is mainly consumption as fresh fruit with many healthy properties for the human body. The cultivation for exportation of the fruit is relatively new in the Ecuador. Some varieties were exported to Colombia, and this country became the pioneer in exports to the International market. The current export to Asia, it covers the 73% of the total exportations of the fruit, being the leading consumer the Pitahaya market; creating an opportunity for the development of the present project. I have to emphasize that the investment in this project, not only will bring benefits to its owners but will create new opportunities for fruits and non-traditional products creating multiple effects over the local economy. The zone of production is focused to be done in the Ecuadorian Amazonia and Central because it reaches the greater level of productivity. Its exportation will be direct to companies specialized in the commercialization of this “nontraditional product.” The present project includes a detailed study of the variables that should take into account, analysis of the major Asia consumers of this fruit.
