Statistics also demonstrate that the number of people going to Japan is increasing, and the number of working holiday participants has grown eleven times more, from 344 in 2009 to 3962 people in 2016. With this significant increasing trend year by year, the author used it as a research background and adopted semi-structured interviews in hopes of investigating ⑴ What learning resources Taiwanese graduates in the Japanese major will use to enhance their Japanese ability when attending working holiday program ⑵ What learning strategies they will use in order to enhance their Japanese ability ⑶ Finally, the results of the survey can be organized and made into a learning-strategy item list, serving as a reference of strategy examples for potential working holiday participants. Therefore, a learning-strategy item list is made according to the results of this study, the data obtained from the interview and Oxford's six categories. The results consist of a total of 52 learning strategies, many of which are metacognitive strategies and social strategies. What’s more, many important findings were found and are suggested as follows: ⑴ In terms of metacognitive strategies, participants of this interview are found to utilize mobile phone applications to learn Japanese as a new learning strategy. ⑵ Participants of this interview know how to take advantage of local resources surrounding them. For example, community language classrooms or host families. ⑶ In terms of the affective strategies, participants of this interview will develop a good habit of listening, speaking, reading, writing Japanese. ⑷ In terms of social strategies, participants of this interview are found to view local Japanese as study partners, and they will also engage in language learning activities with coworkers or friends from other countries.
