The purpose of this study is to explore the reasons why the self-branding cannot be compared with the franchise cram school by enrollment and retention rate of the English classes. In this study, focus group interview is employed. The focus group contains 3 teachers, 4 parents and 2 students. Comparing with Franchise classes and traditional ones, franchising classes have several advantages including: good teaching quality, teaching environment, fame, facilities in class. Research findings show that Franchise classes are more attractive to the parents. 2.Franchise classes can attract more students from after school districts . 3.Lower drop-out rates appear in the franchise classes.
