Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 國際企業系碩士在職專班 === 105 === The study focuses on the relevance between the index of river pollution and sales amount of manufacturing in Tainan and Kaohsiung.
The time spans from Feb., 2004 to Dec., 2016, with totally 78 bimonthly data. The research shows that (1) using the unit root test of ADF, the pollution index of the river is all of the I (0) series; and all the variables of the sales amount are I (1) after one rank difference method, the river pollution index is I (0) stable series, sales are I(1) stable series. Based on that all variables are not existing cointegrated relationship, Granger causality test is applied to analyze the relevance between the river pollution and industrial development.
Most of the analyses indicate that the larger manufacturing sales will cause the changes of pollution in the downstream of the river in the light of increasing production. In addition, part of the analysis show that the pollution of the downstream water changes in the wake of change of sales amount. The rising of water pollution index may lead to Environmental Protection Bureau to conduct environmental audit or industry self-control to avoid contamination in the expansion of production, which triggers sales to decline. This situation needs to go through direct access to the plants in the future and with the environmental pollution case study to confirm its legitimacy.
