The steel industry has been affected by oversupply for international and domestic markets. This phenomenon leads to too much inventory in whole world. Competition between enterprises and they had to cut prices to competitive each other. Finally all enterprises face to sell the inventory without profits. The clients hold too much inventory or the market demand is reduced. Hot-rolled coil must use high-temperature paint for marked product information. In Taiwan is no manufacturers can produce high temperature paint for coil, and 100% imported. Because the demand of steel is unstable lead to stocking problems of paint. How to solve the inventory problem of high temperature paint as the research motivation. This study is for the case of A company, due to customer instability demand of coil goods and the foreign manufacturers to limit the minimum shipments of paint. When the customers in low order volume, paint inventory will be too much. Using TRIZ to find ways to improve the waste cost of inventory. To evaluation how to develop high-temperature paint by the domestic manufacturers. Finally verify the results of appearance of spray, downtime of spray machine, high temperature paint costs, and after-sales service comparison are in expected target. Based on above results all can be achieved, so the imported supplier of high-temperature paint is replaced by domestic supplier.
