Both have great significance in creating job opportunities and boosting exports. According to a report released in 2017 by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Taiwan is ranked 30th among 136 countries, validating that Taiwan’s tourism conditions and infrastructure have developed a considerable amount and possess great potential.In recent years, under the promotion of government plans like the “Mid-range Establishment of Important Tourism Attractions”, “Project Vanguard for Excellence in Tourism”, and “Tour Taiwan 100”, recreational attractions, related basic infrastructure, and the development of the tourism as a whole have met international standards.
This can be seen prominently in the affluence of Homestay and uprising tourist accommodations providing diversification in the market. Homestay have broken away from the traditional image of being second-class or inferior choices. Instead, they now combine luxury with unique room design, greatly increasing the use of flexible living space. This differs from the standardization of hotels and hostels.
Considering the potential of Kenting’s recreational resources, a case study company plans to establish a 15 bedroom specialty Homestay at Kenting’s Dawan area. Which aims to incorporate an innovative whole package deal and all-in-one vacation services, providing more diverse activity choices. Through this research, associated analysis, and evaluations the quality of Dawan area’s tourist accommodation and recreation can be boosted.
