In addition, this study analyzed the significant differences over personal background variables among family travel motivation, personality traits and subjective well-being of undergraduate students. This study employed cluster sampling to recruit participants from the undergraduate students in Tainan City. The questionnaire was conducted and 337 valid questionnaires were obtained. The data were analyzed via statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, stepwise multiple regressions. The major results of data analysis were as follows: First, the data were tested for statistically significant differences in overall family travel motivation perceptions, personality traits and subjective well-being among undergraduate students due to some variables of their gender, study of year, department, family structure, family travel pattern and family travel experience. Second, the overall personality traits showed significant prediction power on the perception of overall family travel motivation among undergraduate students. In multiple regression, 38.8% of variance of family travel motivation was explained by "overall personality traits". Agreeableness was the most important personality trait contributed to the variance. Third, the overall personality traits showed significant prediction power on the perception of overall subjective well-being among undergraduate students. In multiple regression, 47.2% of variance of subjective well-being was explained by "personality traits". Extraversion was the most important personality trait contributed to the variance. Based on the findings of this study, some suggestions were proposed for the development of instructional activities, the implementation of current authority policies and the future researches.
