Here we designed a smart sockets with automatic overloading power-off system to efficiently secure the safety of electricity. Both of the Arduino microprocessor and the Hall element are applied in the outlet to detect the power in real-time. With the build-in WiFi system, users are free to monitor and remotely control the energy of smart outlet anytime, anywhere using the APP (Blynk) of mobile phone, such as to set-up the time schedule to open / close the appliance with ease. In this study, the advantages of smart sockets are as following, (i) intelligence in electrical safety, such as send the potential overloading alarm signal to user's mobile phone in real-time. (ii) Friendly to our environment, such as updating the information of daily power consumption routinely to help user toward the directions of energy saving and carbon reduction.
