Periodontal disease has been classified as one of the major complications. Periodontal disease should be incorporated into diabetes treatment in the future. Periodontal disease treatment can not be ignored.The purpose of the study is understanding the influence factors and medical utilizations with Periodontal disease treatment in Diabetic patients. Methods We use the National Insurance Research Database to conduct a retrospective from 2008 to 2013 in order to understand the influence factors and medical utilizations. The research tools use the SPSS 22 statistical software. The data were analyzed by chi-square, independent sample T-test, Logistic Regression and linear regression. Results The treatment rate of periodontal disease was lower than non-diabetic patients (OR = 0.89).There were significant in age younger, social status higher, urbanization level is township, suffer digestive tract disease,periodontal disease more serious, hospital accreditation level lower, hospital ownership is private, medical area is south area and eastern with whether take periodontal disease treatment (P <0.05). Discussion The treatment rate of periodontal disease was lower than non-diabetic patients. The number of dental clinic visits with diabetic patients are higher than non-diabetic patients, but the cost are more lower in one year. There were significant in age, social status, urbanization level, complication type, periodontal disease severity, hospital accreditation, hospital ownership, medical area and whether take periodontal disease treatment. Health policy or diabetes patients should pay more attention to periodontal disease treatment in the future.
