Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 醫學影像暨放射科學系碩士在職專班 === 105 === In this study, we used 2-[18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-glucose (18F-FDG) Positron Emission Tomography/Computer Tomography (PET/CT) with image reconstruction techniques of combining time-of-flight (TOF) and point-spread function (PSF) to establish normal standard uptake value (SUV) of male reproductive organs in different age groups. We retrospectively recruited male patients included 120 adult men (age range 32–83 years, 57.64±10.62 years) who had no known cancer history and underwent FDG PET/CT studies between January 2015 and December 2016. FDG PET/CT images were reconstructed with Ordered Subset Expectation Maximization (OSEM) ,TOF and PSF. Maximal SUV (SUVmax) and mean SUV (SUVmean) of various male reproductive organs, including the prostate , seminal vesicle, testis, and epididymis, were obtained by drawing regions of interest (ROIs) in these organs. Correlations between SUV and age were calculated using Pearson’s correlation coefficients and scatter plots. Results of Pearson correlation coefficient showed a significant negative correlation between age and SUVs of testis and epididymis. SUVs of prostate and seminal vesicle were not associated with age. SUVs of testis and epididymis decreased with age. Using the new reconstruction technique of OSEM+TOF+PSF that provide better image quality, this study revealed the correlation between SUV values of reproductive organs and aging, such as the negative correlation between SUV of epididymis and age. These results may provide useful reference for basic medical research and clinical practice.
