Description
Summary:碩士 === 弘光科技大學 === 健康事業管理研究所 === 105 === Background: At the present, the health and sleeping quality problems caused by constipation have become an important issue in the health care field. People who are under high pressure, such as office workers and students they have symptoms of constipation and sleep disorder frequently. However, the relationship between constipation, sleep quality and stress are still under-studied. Therefore, this study is to discuss how perceived stress moderates the constipation effects on sleep quality based on suject of colleague students. Purpose:The aim of this study is to use the data of constipation, stress and sleep quality to explore the factors that affect college student’s constipation frequency in central Taiwan. Methods:We adopted a cross-sectional design in this study. The population was all university students of one University in Taichung. It used stratified cluster sampling method with a self-administered questionnaire, there 514 valid samples were collected. The structured questionnaire included demographics. Data and Constipation scoring system(CSS) and Depression Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and were collected from May 10, 2016 to June 10, 2016. All data were analyzed using Chinese version of SPSS statistical software for windows 22.0 system by doing descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Results and Discussion: By this results, it showed that about one percent of subjects has constipation. More than a half of subjects thought they have sleep quality problems (52.7%). 74.9% subjects didn’t feel strongly stress in their daily life. In our model analysis, there were statistically significant differences in constipation symptom, sleep quality and stress. This mean that students with constipation and high levels of perceived stress has poor quality sleep relatively. Conclusions:There was a statistically significant difference and positive correlation between sleep quality and constipation. However, there was no statistically significant between perceived stress and constipation. Suggestions:The higher the degree of constipation, results the worse the quality of sleep and the higher the pressure. It is recommended that families and schools should look at the importance of students' physical health status, sleep level and emotional stress problem, understand the students' food intake, and meet the students' daily food intake. They should conduct long-term follow-up on high risk groups. Cultivate the correct balance of healthy eating behavior and health education to establish a regular regular defecation, advocate sleep knowledge, and arrange emotional management courses and timely support system.
