Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 社會福利與社會工作學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === This study explored the caring for adults with intellectual disabilities from the perspective of nursing home employees, and found out that the residents of nursing homes are primarily brought up by women while men only provide the money in most circumstances. The main complexities of family caregiving often involve money and power, which tend to be worsened by gender difference and power struggle. Used in-depth interviews with 10 women caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities to investigate the impact of work and caregiving stress on their physical and mental health, financial situation, social involvement as well as work performance. The study concluded that the factors affecting women caregivers caring for their family members with intellectual disabilities include: 1. male sovereignty taking precedence over economic sovereignty. 2.traditional ideology of male domination. 3.how to continue with and share caring responsibilities in the future. Keywords: gender, adults with intellectual disabilities, primary family caregivers, social resources
