Environmental justice concern for collective justice, aiming at to understand the attitude of people about the Not In My Back Yard (NIMBY) facilities, to analyze the phenomenon of injustice environmental, and to provide effectively action strategy.
At first, this paper analyze the setting of NIMBY facilities expressed in the event of transmission and transformation facilities (TTF) from Taiwan Power Company (TPC). The public opinion of NIMBY is gradually growing, because that TTF affect the security of the people and relegate the value of their property. People, who has NIMBY as possible as go away from their home, take a series of protest movements. The residents in the community are full of the experiences participating the protest movements, also taking the action to build up their homeland. It, connecting local strength and participating the public community affairs, trigger the community recreation developing, and put the seriously pressure on the financial groups. And then in noted that people expect corporate to have social responsibility during the booming globalization makes the corporate offer the new thoughts like corporate ethics, corporate social responsibilities (CSR), and corporate citizenship to address it. To create the mutual benefits situation, corporate need to work hard to carry out the goal of the community developing.
We know it well that Taiwan Power Company should recognize the social problem early and actively respond to social needs, if they want to raise the behavior level of social responsibility. The modern enterprises are not simply to deal with the disadvantage of science technology by themselves, but endeavor to develop the advantage of science technology. They have to enlarge the value of the corporate to maximization for human happiness. All that can reach the ideal of environmental justice.
