Summary: | 碩士 === 輔英科技大學 === 護理系碩士班 === 105 === Sedentary lifestyles lead to a lack of physical activity in most people and increase the proportion of people with obesity and metabolic syndrome, leading to chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperglycemia, and cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Yi Jin Jing for adult in health-related physical fitness. A quasi-experimental design was used. This study is scheduled from 20 to 64 years old of adults which in an administrative region of southern Taiwan, and the participants consent and cooperation as a source of samples. To facilitate sampling divided into experimental group(n=30) and control group(n=33). The experimental group was given Yi Jin Jing for 12 weeks, three times a week, 30 minutes a time; the control group maintained the original lifestyle at the same time. The health-related physical fitness of the two groups was measured at before intervention, the fourth, eighth, and twelfth weeks after the intervention, which included of cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular fitness, flexibility, and body composition. The results were analyzed by GEE of SPSS 22.0 in Windows version. There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in muscle strength(β=1.43, Wald χ2=3.90, p=0.048), muscle endurance(β=1.50, Wald χ2=6.16, p=0.013), body fat percentage(β=-0.57, Wald χ2=5.37, p=0.020), visceral fat weight(β=-0.09, Wald χ2=4.41, p=0.036), subcutaneous fat weight(β=-0.36, Wald χ2=4.59, p=0.032), and upper limb muscle weight(β=0.22, Wald χ2=6.95, p=0.008). Therefore, Yi Jin Jing can enhance muscle strength, muscle endurance, upper limb muscle weight, and lower body fat percentage, visceral fat weight and subcutaneous fat weight for adult. After intervention, the results of cardiorespiratory fitness, flexibility, BMI and WHR were improved in experimental group, but were not statistically significant differences with control group. The results of this study were used to select healthy movements in adults. It is suggested further studies can be randomized and cross regional, that use to explore the long term health related physical fitness effects of qigong.
