The main declines of cognitive function for the aging process are attention and memory. According to the above statements, the purpose of this study explores using the background music to different gender, age, education and religious beliefs and other personal characteristics of the attention of healthy people result in different degrees of influence; background music without lyrics help healthy elderly attention performance better than the music with lyrics; background music is sufficient improvement to the health elderly’s attention. This study was utilized quantitative statistics, and the participants were the healthy elderly at the age of 65 or older in the Evergreen Academy. In order to understand how the background music affects the performance of attention in different variables, like genders, age, educational degree, and religion. The experiment was divided into three groups: group A is quiet and no music environment; group B is with the background music without lyrics environment; group C is with the background music lyrics environment. Also, it was used the standardized test, the use of Chu's attention test, and the music was chosen the soft pop music to made of the background music with lyrics and no lyric. There was collected 92 questionnaires included 74 females and 18 males. This study utilized SPSS statistical software, analyzed with ANOVA of the variable of genders and religion. Also, it analyzed the correlation between the variables of age and educational degree with Spearman's rank correlation analysis. The last, the researcher estimated the prediction how the variables of the years of study and age related by the liner regression analysis. According to the results of this study, the background music intervention has different degrees of attention to the healthy elderly influenced by the variables of gender, age, education, and religion beliefs.; background music without lyrics more help better than the music with lyrics on the healthy elderly’s attention; the use of background music has significant relevance of the improvement of attention to the healthy elderly.
